Geoffrey Howe

Paintings

An abstract exploration of the varying light and emotions experienced within woodlands and landscapes using a combination of acrylic paint layers on ply, fire and the physical working of the surface.

The introduction of a flame to burn the ply surface is an integral part of the work representing the destruction and regeneration found in the natural world and the controlled burning enables the natural form of the wood grain to play its part in the creation of these paintings.
